Parents and Students are encouraged to attend the following upcoming events:
- Wednesday, October 11 at 6-8pm: FAFSA (free application for federal student aid) Completion Workshop 6-8pm in the MTHS library. This workshop is for those who would like assistance filling out the FAFSA. Who: Seniors (Parents) going to college and juniors planning on taking dual credit classes senior year that need financial assistance. Information you will need to bring: Social Security Number OR Your Alien Registration Number, if you (student) are not a U.S. Citizen; 2016 federal tax returns, W-2’s, and other records of income; Banking statements and records of investments (if applicable); Records of untaxed income (if applicable); An FSA ID to sign electronically. (This can be created beforehand at fsaid.ed.gov, or at the time of the application); List of colleges you would like to attend.
- COLLEGE NIGHT at ICC: October 18 @ 5:30pm-7:30pm East Peoria Campus, CougarPlex. College Night gives students a chance to talk to over 80 colleges in one College representatives will be on-hand to visit with students and their parents about programs, the admission process, scholarship and financial aid opportunities, as well as answer other questions students and parents may have.
- Wednesday, October 25 at 8am-11am in MTHS Room 211. College Day Open House for parents and students. If you have any questions about how to find a college, college applications, financial aid, scholarships, and completing the FAFSA.
