There have been many questions in our community about the recent events surrounding an obscene video with racist remarks. In an effort to answer some of those questions, as well as provide a resource for parents to utilize when engaging their students in a dialogue around tolerance and human dignity, we have provided a link to the full press conference held on October 3rd, 2017. Not only is there a statement from our Superintendent, Mr. Sean O’Laughlin, in the video, but it also contains testimonies from two parents whose families were deeply impacted by the contents of the video.
CAUTION: Some of the language in the video is offensive, including the use of a racial slur, so please be conscious of younger viewers in your proximity. WEEK News 25 included the language because they felt “it is absolutely integral to the context of the story and the point being made by the speaker.”
