The Metamora Township High School Marching Band is a non-audition, all inclusive ensemble that performs and competes around the state during the fall. Rehearsals start in the summer, where students are tutored by individual clinicians for two weeks, providing a well-rounded education that is both rigorous and fun. Also during this time, the students learn the basic fundamentals of marching style, proper practice techniques, how to manage performance anxiety, and how to be a good role model and a positive member of the community.
The Metamora Redbird Marching Band is a volunteer ensemble under the direction of Zachary Hilligoss with assistance from Kelly Jarosz, Nick Jarosz, Kylie Hankosky, Marion Kennel, and Eric Loring.
The Metamora Marching Band is proud of its accomplishments, with continued noteworthy performances and placements at events like the Western Illinois University Marching Classic, the Geneseo Marching Festival, the Washington Panther Invitational, the Morton Invitational, the Limestone Marching Festival, and the State of Illinois Marching Festival. The Metamora Bands are also proud of their recent performances at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, the Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional in St. Louis, Missouri, and the Bands of America Grand Nationals Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.
