The Assistant Principals’ Office is open from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm,
Monday through Friday.

Besides disciplinary issues, the Assistant Principals’ Office handles attendance, student IDs, parking, lockers, and items that have been lost or found.  Below you will find the Assistant Principals’ Office staff as well as some frequently asked questions.  Please do not hesitate to contact the Assistant Principals’ Office at 309-367-4151, option 2.

Frequently Asked Questions…

What do I do if my child is absent?
A parent or guardian needs to inform the Assistant Principals’ Office prior to 9 am when their child is going to be absent from school for any length of time. Please call 309-367-4151, ext. 533.  The student must also bring a note to the Assistant Principals’ Office, signed by the parent/guardian, when he/she returns to school. For more detailed information, such as make-up work, planned absences, etc., please refer to the “Daily Routines and Procedures” section in the Student Handbook Planner.

 

 

What do I do if my child gets sick while at school?
If a student falls ill during the school day, he/she must speak to the nurse before contacting his/her parents/guardians. Please see the “Absence” link in the Student Planner for more detailed information. For more detailed information, please refer to the “Daily Routines and Procedures” section in the Student Handbook Planner.

 

 

What happens if my child loses his Student ID during the school year?
The IDs students are issued at the beginning of the school year are used for checking out material from the library and also to get into any sports activity at MTHS. There is a $2 fee to replace a lost ID. Please inform the Assistant Principals’ Office as soon as you realize the ID is missing. Why does my child need a Student Planner?
Each student is given a planner at the beginning of the school year. Besides being a handy organizational tool, Student Planners double as passbooks. A teacher’s signature is required so that students can travel to and from the restroom, Guidance, the computer lab, etc. Students are asked not to share their passbooks with anyone. A replacement fee of $10 is charged to any student who loses his/her planner. Please contact the Assistant Principals’ Office for a replacement. My child wants to drive his/her car to school. What does he/she need in order to do that?
Parking spaces are limited and students are encouraged to car pool or ride the bus to school. Students who choose to park on school property must have a current parking permit issued by the Assistant Principals’ Office. Please contact the Assistant Principals’ Office for the proper paperwork to receive a parking permit. My child's locker isn't working properly. Where can he/she go to get help?
Hall lockers and P.E. lockers are furnished without charge to each individual student. Please report any locker problems to the Assistant Principals’ Office as soon as possible. For more detailed information, please refer to “Lockers” in the “Additional Facilities and Services” section of the Student Handbook Planner.

 

 

My child lost something at school or left something behind on the school bus. Does the school have a Lost & Found?
All found articles are taken to the Assistant Principals’ Office, including items found on the school bus. Items of higher value (i.e. billfolds, iPods, etc.) must be properly identified before being returned to the owner.
