Introduction to VoTech
Introduction to Vocational Technology is a survey course that is designed to give students a foundation of the breadth of courses offered in the Vocational Department at Metamora High School. Students who enroll in this course rotate between six different Vocational Department courses through the school year. These rotations include: Wood Technology & Electronics, Metals Manufacturing, Agriculture Sciences, Graphic Design, Drafting, and Automotive Mechanics.
ELECTRONICS: Basic electronics theory will be introduced in this session, while giving students the opportunity to build a simple electronic project. Due to time constraints, the Electronic session and the Woods session will likely be combined into one six week session.
Introduction to Vocational Education Q & A
Do I have to be freshmen to take Intro to Vo Tech?
You do not have to be a freshmen to take Intro. to Vo. Tech. Due class conflicts, many students are not able to take this course until their sophomore year.
Do I have to take Intro to VoTech for a whole year?
Many students can often only fit one semester of this course in their schedule. As a result, students are given a choice of 3 of the 6 Vocational areas that they are most interested in. Although the department cannot guarantee student choices due to class sizes, extreme effort is taken to match one semester students with the Vocational areas they are most interested in.
