ALL WEEK LONG ACTIVITIES

School-Wide Tag!
Essentially, you will be given a carrot you must wear around your neck during the entire school day to let others know you are playing. On the front of your carrot is your name. On the back of your carrot is the name of the person you must seek out and tag. You must be on your guard, though, because you do not know who has YOUR name! If you tag the person you have, you will obtain his or her carrot and you will begin looking for that person’s next target. The person with the most carrots by the end of the week wins! The rules must be followed.  1. You must wear your carrot at all times during the school day or you will be disqualified. 2. Tag will only take place on school grounds. 3. Tag will only take place during passing periods. There will be no running but a nice mall walk is appropriate!

Pep Rally Game Sign-ups
If you would like to participate in a Pep Rally game, you need to sign up at the bonfire or at lunch Mon-Wed. We will randomly choose from those students who sign up and let you know if you have been chosen to represent your class during the pep rally.

Birds Give Back
The HoCo Committee felt that having fun and giving back can go hand-and-hand. So, this year we will be participating in a day of service on Friday, September 27. On Friday, all students will arrive at school by 8:15 AM. We will make our way to the football field for our fire drill and then onto our assigned busses for our day of service. During the two hours away from the school, students will perform acts of service at over thirty separate facilities, including camps, parks, local schools, libraries, animal shelters, and food pantries. After volunteering, we will return to MTHS, where we will enjoy an awesome pep assembly with games, candy, pie in the face, teacher/student dance-offs, and much more! HOCO Field Trip Permission Form

Students who have not completed the interest survey use the following link to submit ASAP. Interest Survey

Students should wear RED on Friday, our Birds Give Back Day of Service!

DONATION WARS!
This year, instead of donating money, we will be donating items to local charity organizations. Each class will be assigned an organization and will be battling to win the WAR. Please see the below for donation suggestions and assignments. Also note that some items can be used for more than one organization, so be aware and strategically place your items where you think your class can benefit the most. You can sabotage another class by donating items to their charity. Bringing an item for another class’s charity means they lose points. It’s going to be an amazing battle!  You will be able to bring items in the entire week of homecoming, and we will keep a running tally in the old gym. Bolded items are desperately needed. For every item you bring in, you will receive a Pie in the Face ticket to win the chance to pie a teacher! Put your name on the ticket and drop it in the can of your teacher of choice! The top four teachers with the most tickets will be pied on Friday during the pep assembly. The class with the MOST items donated will win DONATION WARS.

Parade Information

The Homecoming Parade will be Friday, September 27, 2019 at 2 pm throughout Metamora!  Check out the parade route to help you find your best viewing location!

The theme for this year’s Homecoming is “The World of Disney”.  We will begin line up at 1:00 PM in the parking lot near the baseball/softball complex off Wiedman Road. The parade line-up map will be posted as soon as possible, to help groups and organizations find their “ready spot”. The line-up map document (line-up document) will provide your group’s parade participation number; then match it to the parade line-up map to locate your group’s parade “ready spot”.

Two maps are provided below:  the 2019 Parade Route Map and Parade Participant Line-Up Map.
