Although I was born and raised in Kickapoo, IL, a part of me feels right at home here at Metamora Township High School. My mom was an MTHS graduate, and as I have a large family base that still resides in Metamora, I have always been quite familiar with the area and the school. I graduated from Brimfield High School, and I attended Bradley University where I received my bachelor’s degree in English Secondary Education in 2008. I have also earned my master’s degree from Mizzou. I am currently starting my 13th year at MTHS, and I can honestly say I never want to teach any place else. The community, faculty, parents, and, of course, the wonderful students of Metamora all make this school an amazing place to work. It is great to have a job I wake up excited to go to in the mornings!
In my spare time, I like to stay active; it is very rare that you will find me kicking back with nothing to do. Most of my time is spent with my family. My husband and I are usually found chasing around our three small children, and as a family, we love playing outside, hiking, going for bike rides, making crafts, and of course, reading books.
Overall, I love to laugh and learn, and it is the love for both of these things that I hope to share with all of my students!
