Biology

Year – 1.0 credit; Freshman; Prerequisite:  None

This course is open to Freshmen students based on their science and math placement tests and the recommendation of their eight grade teachers.  This class is also offered to upperclassmen.  The course presents Biology from the cellular point of view. This requires learning the correct methods of microscope usage.  Units covered include cell processes, cell reproduction, genetics, evolution, microorganisms, non-vascular land plants, vascular plants, animal structure and function, taxonomy and human body systems.  A tree identification unit will be completed in this class.
