Malinda Goodwin

Malinda Goodwin– (Academic counselor for students with the last name starting with A-D). Quick Bio:  I have been a school counselor at MTHS for 19 years. I grew up in a small town about an hour North of Metamora. Don’t be afraid to ask me about “the wheelchair.”  I was in a car accident when I was 16 and this is just how I “roll” now. I earned a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology at Illinois State University. I worked as a residential counselor at an adolescent drug and alcohol treatment center and soon realized that I was ready to pursue my goal as a school counselor.  I returned to ISU to complete a teaching degree in Social Sciences and completed a Master’s degree in School Counseling at Northern Illinois University, while substitute teaching throughout the process.  Outside of the school setting, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I can’t forget to mention the most popular staff member at MTHS is my sidekick, Crosby. Crosby is my trained service dog. He brings extra joy to MTHS and is loved by students and staff.
