Photography students took their first photographs today using only a shoebox and photo paper. This week they are learning about pinhole photography and the darkroom before they get their film cameras next week.

Carving artist Dwight Hershberger came and talked to Art One 3D students today about the subtractive process in plaster carving. These students are knee deep in plaster carving and he gave them some great methods of idea generation, thinking in three dimensions, and showed us some of his amazing pieces.

Mr. Ray (MTHS woods teacher) came back to the ceramic classes this semester to show us another perspective and some advanced skills on the wheel. We always look forward to his expertise and visits. How many of you know that he was a professional potter before he was our woods teacher?
Algebra II students are sorting polynomials today to work on vocabulary in preparation for a quiz.




Black and White Photography students experiment with sunprints. They are studying the invention of photography and are spending these first few weeks learning how important light and science are to this medium.
