🎉 MTHS Math Teachers Leading The State! 🌟
Let's give a HUGE shoutout to our incredible Mathematics teachers, Jen Lucia and Melissa Walton, who recently took a fantastic professional risk by presenting at the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) Annual Conference! 👏
Presenting at a statewide conference takes courage, preparation, and a true commitment to sharing best practices and elevating math education for all students. We're so proud that they stepped up to share their innovative work and represent the spirit of growth and collaboration here at Metamora!
Their dedication to learning and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the classroom is an inspiration to their students and colleagues alike. Way to go, Mrs. Lucia and Mrs. Walton! ❤️🦅

Just like in math, every challenge in life is simply a problem waiting to be solved. But don’t let stress multiply—divide it with friends!

"So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past." It was a grand time last week in senior English as students finished the great American classic, The Great Gatsby, and attended a very important funeral for the characters. #neverstopreading #thegreenlight

Ms. Cooper's classes are mourning the deaths of Myrtle and Gatsby today with a funeral in the library. Cake, ice cream, costumes, and some animated reading (and some fake tears from the mourners) make the bereaved library/funeral home a literary stage. Props to T Coop for the drama and fun!

Student Council has so much to be thankful for this Homecoming season. Whether it is to Homecoming Committee for an exciting week of activities, to the mothers who came to decorate for the dance, to the Administrators who kept us organized at almost every event, or the wonderful teachers who participated in everything like the great role models they are: we are so lucky! Thank you to everyone!

Today is the 2025 Homecoming Parade at 2:00! The parade will include our amazing Grand Marshals this year, Tom Dubois, Ron Kiefner, Chuck Park, and Doug Osterloo. All four of these wonderful men have worked countless years at MTHS in different roles and functions. MTHS is a better school because of amazing employees like these four men. We are honored to celebrate them at the parade today! Come out and cheer on our Grand Marshals and all the parade participants! Go Birds!
