The Academic Challenge team had a record number of participants this year, with 40 students participating in the Regional Competition, which was held online on February 8th. The team finished 3rd in the Regional, earning a Wild Card bid to the Sectional Competition on March 11th at Eureka College. Three students earned medals at Regionals: Tyler Anderson, 2nd in Biology. AJ Stone 2nd in Computer Science. Sam Begold 3rd in Physics. A 16-member team continues to Sectionals.

The Metamora FFA won the Section 5 Veterinary Science Competition on Monday, February 26. The team consisted of Aubree Sparry, who was 1st place individual; Lauren Poole, who was 3rd place individual; Avery Beltramea, who was 4th place individual; and Allie Vancil, who was 7th place individual. There were six teams and 24 individuals at the contest, which consisted of an exam, a math practicum, identification of breeds of animals, veterinary tools, and parasites, and completing a proper restraint and clinical practicum on an actual animal. The team will travel to the University of Illinois for the State Competition.
