The production is directed by Tyler Smith and has a cast that includes Bri Short as Mary Poppins, Amare Bell as Bert, Samuel Stamm as George Banks, Kate Shoff as Winifred Banks, Natalie Loring as Jane Banks, Evan Enderle as Michael Banks, Evie Morris as Mrs. Brill, Derek Hover as Robertson Ay, Makenna Reeves as the Bird Woman, Lottie Prather as Mrs. Corry, Olivia Morris as Miss Andrew, and Xander Pasquini as Neleus.
The ensemble, made up of chimney sweeps, bank tellers, toys, and more, includes more than 50 students from Metamora Township High School.

Over the weekend, some of our choir and band students competed in this year's solo and ensemble contest. Of the nine vocal judges at the competition, three gave "Best of the Day" awards to Metamora students! Congratulations to Amare Bell and Lottie Prather for winning with their solos, and congrats to Amare Bell and Bri Short for winning with their duet!

The 49th MTHS German Fest was a huge success! Guests were treated to a delicious German meal, traditional folk dancing (including flips!), and a hilarious production of Schneewittchen (Snow White). Thanks to everyone who made this wonderful event possible!
The Academic Challenge team had a record number of participants this year, with 40 students participating in the Regional Competition, which was held online on February 8th. The team finished 3rd in the Regional, earning a Wild Card bid to the Sectional Competition on March 11th at Eureka College. Three students earned medals at Regionals: Tyler Anderson, 2nd in Biology. AJ Stone 2nd in Computer Science. Sam Begold 3rd in Physics. A 16-member team continues to Sectionals.
The Metamora FFA won the Section 5 Veterinary Science Competition on Monday, February 26. The team consisted of Aubree Sparry, who was 1st place individual; Lauren Poole, who was 3rd place individual; Avery Beltramea, who was 4th place individual; and Allie Vancil, who was 7th place individual. There were six teams and 24 individuals at the contest, which consisted of an exam, a math practicum, identification of breeds of animals, veterinary tools, and parasites, and completing a proper restraint and clinical practicum on an actual animal. The team will travel to the University of Illinois for the State Competition.

Congratulations to Dr. Jennifer Jewell for being a 2024 Those Who Excel Award Winner. Dr. Jewell does an excellent job of working with students and staff each day at MTHS to make it a better place! We are so fortunate to have such a good person here!
The Birds will take on Richwoods Friday night for the Sectional Championship. We hope to see the entire Metamora Township High School Community at Pontiac wearing red to cheer the Redbirds to victory! Tickets can be purchased using the link below! Students in Graphic Arts are learning to use the press! They have begun printing the memo pads they designed with InDesign. Assembly comes next!
Students in Advanced Digital Imaging practiced their people posing skills by taking turns being in front of the camera and behind it. They learned how to use a reflector, a scrim, and how to take photos in the shadow of a building.
