Intro to American Education Dual Credit and Educators Rising headed to MGS to do activities with our kindergarten friends today! It was a full-circle moment for a few high schoolers who were able to join their very own beloved former K teachers on the other side of the fence. "When you learn, teach. When you get, give" (Maya Angelou).

Dual Spanish IV students worked with 3rd grade bilingual students at Lincoln Grade School in Peoria. Students made crafts and decoration trees all in Spanish! Great memories were made! Then they sang carols in Spanish at our very own Riverview Grade School!

Parents and Guardians of MTHS Students:
This morning, MTHS had a small electrical fire in an HVAC unit within the girls' PE locker room. An MTHS staff member pulled the fire alarm, and our students moved outside per our procedures. The fire quickly went out on its own, emergency services arrived on campus to assist, and as soon as emergency services gave us clearance, we moved the students back into the building out of the cold. Our students and staff did a great job following our procedures, and we are very proud of how everyone conducted themselves.
Thank you,
MTHS Administration

Good morning,
Students are returning to their 2nd-hour class. Metamora Fire Department has given us the all clear. Have a great day!
Thanks,
Charlie

Good morning,
We had a small electrical fire in a locker room this morning. Students are currently in the gym as Metamora Fire investigates. We will send an update later this morning.
Thanks,
Charlie

Did you know that MTHS had 150 students take 280 AP exams last year in over 20 subject areas? Juniors received registration information last week, and Sophomores and Freshmen will receive registration information later this winter. Enrolling in AP classes is an excellent opportunity to challenge yourself academically, receive college credit with a score of 3 or higher, and stand out in the admissions process. We encourage all our students to push themselves to reach their maximum potential.

At this time of Thanksgiving, we want to take a minute and give thanks to our students, parents, community members, and teachers. We are so fortunate to live in a supportive community with excellent educators. This year, MTHS ranked in the top 2.15% of all high schools in the state of Illinois per the 2023-2024 Illinois School Report Card. MTHS was 15th out of 697 high schools! This is thanks to everyone who gives their best effort every day! For the complete metrics of the school report card, click below.
