Junior and senior Spanish students returned today from the two week Spanish Immersion Cultural Exchange. Students spoke in Spanish continuously while learning about the country, living with Spanish families, and attending school. What a journey! We are so proud of these 21 responsible, courageous, open-minded, and hardworking students!

Announcing the 2025 Fall Play!
THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG
Directed by Tyler Smith
From Broadway Licensing:
From Mischief, Broadway masters of comedy, comes the smash hit farce. Welcome to opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences! Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award–winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter!
There will be an Informational Meeting for interested students on Wednesday, April 16th from 6 pm-7 pm in the Auditorium. Auditions will be held on Friday, May 9th from 5:30pm-9pm in the Auditorium. Questions? Contact the Director at tsmith@mths.us
The production dates of THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG are September 18-21, 2025.
We hope to see you there!

Some MTHS Students attended the Career Summit with Mrs. Karch and Mrs. Fehr. The Career Summit was held at ICC and gave students a chance to learn about different careers and do mock interviews.
Special shout out to WCSEA vocational specialist Kali Latham who helped plan the very well-executed event.

Mrs. Fandel, Mrs. Cooper, and Mrs. Murphy had the pleasure of meeting author Josh Sundquist over the weekend at the Illinois Farm Bureau Conference. All three teachers have taught Josh's best-selling memoir We Should Hang Out Sometime for several years in English II classes. Mr. Sundquist was gracious enough to spend time with these teachers and answer some of their students' questions about his awesome story.

Congratulations to our 6, yes, that's right, 6 MTHS Archers who qualified for State this Saturday in Mattoon, Illinois! These athletes have worked very hard and deserve all the recognition: Tyler Crosiar, Megan Eller, Cecilia Evans, Noah Merrill, Aubree Sparry, and Damian's Winemiller!

MTHS has not just one National Educators Rising qualifier, but TWO! State competition scores were just released, and in addition to Grayce Wolven who won first place in state in Children's Lit K-3, automatically qualifying her to compete at the National Educators Rising Conference in Orlando this June, we learned today that Abrianna Schertz, who competed in the Job Interview competition, placed in the top 10 in the state and received a score above 90%, qualifying her to compete at nationals as well!
Way to go, Abrianna and Grayce!
